JAASEP Aims and Scope
The Journal of the American Academy of Special Education Professionals (JAASEP) is a peer-reviewed journal committed to advancing research, policy, and practice for special education professionals. Founded in 2006 JAASEP publishes work relevant to special educators in diverse roles, across educational settings, and with unique professional needs.
JAASEP welcomes empirical research, conceptual papers, policy analyses, and innovative practice-focused submissions that address the complex and evolving landscape of special educators. Journal editors and leadership are committed to publishing scholarship that informs the preparation, ongoing development, and leadership of special education professionals and elevates the voices and experiences of all those in the field of special education.
Embracing both longstanding and emerging areas of inquiry, JAASEP aims to contribute to a dynamic and inclusive knowledge base that supports meaningful educational outcomes for individuals with disabilities across age groups and service settings, as well as the professionals who serve and work with them.
